Auntie Laura

I can't believe it, I am finally an Auntie- so exciting and Bella is soooooo beautiful and I'm not just saying that cos I'm biased - she really is the cutest little thing. I'm going to spoil her so much and I love her to bits already :D. Big congrats to my sister Alex xxx

Too long!

I can't believe it has been over a year since I last posted something on here! Just haven't had time!

I finally have a full time job and long since left that internship. I'm learning a lot and so much has happened in the past year! One of those things being that I am very very close to becoming an auntie! So excited! We had Alex's surprise baby shower at the weekend and she really did not have any idea we had been organising it. She just had a permanent grin on her face and I'm so glad we did it! You can see the decorations below and we had a Hello Kitty cake for her as she likes Hello Kitty. We had cucumber sandwiches and some cakes and we played some games like guess the baby food, nursery rhyme quiz and pin the dummy on the baby. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and I think we could have stayed there all day! Alex loved all her presents- her friends had clubbed together and got her a mini yummy mummy bag and her family got her the big one. She was a very happy girly :)

Bobbi Brown

Been getting so fed up of the same boring makeup that I use and being really unadventurous, so went to the Bobbi brown counter today at Fenwicks to ask for some help choosing some different colours. Whenever I look at all the colours I feel lost and don't know where to begin. The lady that served me was brilliant, she new exactly what would suit my skin tone without it looking garish, as have had experiences like that at some beauty counters.

She put an ivory shadow on first, covering the whole eyelid and eyebrow area, followed by velvet plum on the lower lid and wine on the crease of the lid. Then she put on an ink liner that felt so soft on my skin, not like some of the ink liners I've tried before that slightly hurt when you try and put it on. It really opened my eyes and made me look awake. The below pic is an attempt to show what they looked like, sorry it's not very good.

She could also see that I had shadows under my eyes, so she firstly put on  a hydrating eye cream, then used a corrector to go in the corner of my eyes and slightly on my nose. Then the concealer she used the creamy concealer kit in beige. It was like my eyes had really been transformed, I no longer had that dull, tired look, I honestly could not believe the difference, as some things I have bought have hardly made a change. I think Bobbi Brown is now one of my new fav makeup brands :)

The Tiger's wife

I bought this book in august 2011 and only got round to reading it a couple of weeks ago and it was magnificent! I absolutely loved the style of writing; a great storyteller that has you absorbed within the first sentence. I almost felt in a dreamlike state whilst reading this book, completely oblivious to my real life surroundings. I think the magical realism of the book helped with this such as the deathless man and obviously the tiger's wife. There were stories within the story but it all linked together and actually helped better with the understanding of how things came together. This is the first book I have ever blogged or written about, so it has clearly made a very good impression on me and I strongly recommend that anyone read this book.

Got the internship!!

I've been meaning to post on here for ages but just have not got round to it. I went for my third interview on the 1st of feb and they said yes and I start on the 5th march!!! Im soooooooo excited and so pleased to be leaving COOK as it is so not challenging enough and had become very tedious, so I'm very excited to start this internship an hopefully I will impress them :)

3rd Interview!!!

Am now on a third interview stage!!!! I sooo sooooo soooooo want this internship it's unreal and I just want to know now. I've been promised that after the third interview they will let me know. I really hope I get it and that all this stress and hard work wasn't for nothing. But then I think that it's all experience and there are other things out that, but have seemed to have pinned all my hopes on this one. I will be unbelievably happy if I get it, over the moon, on top of the world. Just so keen to put my ideas forward and put them into practice!!!

Been on the internet so much lately. I was actually given an interview assignment to try and think of ways to improve their facebook and twitter. It's all ive been able to think of and have come across so many things. I hope my ideas are liked, only two more days to complete it!!! Sooooo want this internship!!!!!!
